Dr. Raymond Pavlick has been with ATSU since 1997, when he joined the faculty in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies. During his tenure with the Physician Assistant Program, he served as the Academic Coordinator from 2001-2004 and the Associate Program Director from 2004-2007 before joining SOMA as Professor of Physiology. Dr. Pavlick has been bestowed with numerous teaching awards by his students, including Educator of the Year in 2006 for the ATSU Mesa campus.
Dr. Pavlick received both his B.S. (1990) and Ph.D. (1995) in Physiology from the University of California, Davis. While working on his doctorate, he also minored in Pharmacology and Toxicology and worked part-time as an emergency room technician. In addition to his role at SOMA, he is also actively involved with the City of Mesa as an instructor for the Mesa Fire Department's Paramedic Program.
Dr. Pavilck has published several articles in various journals including General and Comparative Endocrinology, The Journal of Physician Assistant Education and The Journal of the Medical Library Association. He has also authored chapters in various textbooks in both physiology and pharmacology.
