My motivation for starting the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at A.T. Still University’s College of Graduate Health Studies (ATSU-CGHS) stemmed from my passion for nursing, education, leadership, and improving the well-being of healthcare professionals and nursing students. I wanted to expand my ability to create positive change in healthcare while helping prepare and support the next generation of nurses through evidence-based practice, mentorship, and education.
In earning this degree, my goals were to strengthen my leadership and clinical knowledge, advance my skills in evidence-based practice and quality improvement, and become better equipped to educate and mentor future nurses. I also wanted to contribute to initiatives that improve healthcare outcomes, student success, and professional wellness.
I chose ATSU because of its strong reputation in healthcare education, supportive learning environment, and emphasis on leadership, innovation, and evidence-based practice. The program’s flexibility and commitment to developing nurse leaders aligned closely with my professional goals and passion for nursing education.
With this degree, I intend to continue growing as a nurse leader, educator, and advocate while helping shape and support the next generation of nurses. I hope to implement evidence-based initiatives that improve wellness, education, and healthcare outcomes while mentoring nursing students to become compassionate, knowledgeable, and resilient healthcare professionals.
