Missouri Smile Forward® is an uncompensated care fund created to provide oral healthcare services for patients with little or no dental insurance benefits and who demonstrate financial need. Allowing patients the option to keep their smile through funding assistance for dental restorative services is at the heart of the Smile Forward® program.
Smile Forward: Elderly
Raised: $670.00
Restricted funds will be applied to elderly patients only. By offering funding assistance for those most in need of oral healthcare services, ATSU-MOSDOH students will obtain the variety and number of patient encounters needed to become the best and brightest dental professionals of tomorrow, while also increasing the overall health and wellness of the greater St. Louis community.
Smile Forward: Emergency
Raised: $1,010.00
Restricted funds will be applied to procedures needed for student competencies only. By offering funding assistance for those most in need of oral healthcare services, ATSU-MOSDOH students will obtain the variety and number of patient encounters needed to become the best and brightest dental professionals of tomorrow, while also increasing the overall health and wellness of the greater St. Louis community.
Smile Forward: Greatest need
Raised: $619,058.04
Unrestricted funds will be applied to pediatric, elderly and special needs patients as well as Veterans and others – whoever has the greatest need at present. By offering funding assistance for those most in need of oral healthcare services, ATSU-MOSDOH students will obtain the variety and number of patient encounters needed to become the best and brightest dental professionals of tomorrow, while also increasing the overall health and wellness of the greater St. Louis community.
Smile Forward: Pediatrics

Smiles for Veterans program

Restricted funds will be applied to veteran patients only. By offering funding assistance for those most in need of oral healthcare services, ATSU-MOSDOH students will obtain the variety and number of patient encounters needed to become the best and brightest dental professionals of tomorrow, while also increasing the overall health and wellness of the greater St. Louis community.
St. Louis Dental Education and Oral Health Center: General operations
Raised: $105,728.00
This game-changing center provides oral healthcare for the St. Louis region’s most underserved patients while engaging and training a new generation of dental professionals. Since it's opening in June 2015, the St. Louis Dental Education and Oral Health Center has been working towards a goal impact of an estimated 9,390+ new patients, resulting in over 39,000 annual encounters with vulnerable children, adults, special needs patients, and others. The vast majority of the 9,390+ active patients will be gaining new (or significantly expanded) access to oral healthcare. In order for this to be possible, ATSU-MOSDOH must raise funds yearly for the general operating expenses within the center [i.e. equipment, supplies, office staff and faculty salaries, etc].
