Dwight E. McLeod, DDS, MS

Dwight E. McLeod, DDS, MS, became dean of A.T. Still University’s Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-MOSDOH) in July 2016.

Prior to joining ATSU-MOSDOH, Dr. McLeod served as a professor for Southern Illinois University’s School of Medicine. He was also chair for the Department of Applied Dental Medicine and section head of Periodontology. For the American Dental Education Association, Dr. McLeod served as chair of the Section of Periodontics and as a councilor. In 2000, Dr. McLeod founded the Jamaica Dental Mission, which operates three clinics in western Jamaica. More than 16,000 patients have received dental care though this mission.

Dr. McLeod earned his doctor of dental surgery degree from Howard University College of Dentistry and his master of science degree and certificate in periodontics from University of Iowa School of Dentistry. He also received a certificate in general practice dentistry from the Veteran Administration Health Center in Washington, D.C., and is a board-certified periodontist. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Dental Education Association, American Academy of Periodontology, Missouri Dental Society, St. Louis Dental Society, American Board of Periodontology, and Midwest Society of Periodontology.

Poonam Jain BDS, MS, MPH

Poonam Jain, BDS, MS, MPH, is professor and vice dean for clinical Education, operations and community partnerships for A.T. Still University-Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health’s St. Louis Dental Center. Dr. Jain obtained her bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Delhi, her certificate and master's degree in operative dentistry from the University of Iowa and her master's degree in public health from Saint Louis University. Dr. Jain is an accomplished academician, researcher and clinician, and provides dental students with lectures covering operative dentistry, caries risk assessment and management, dental materials (glass ionomer), community and preventive dentistry, and geriatric dentistry.

Grishondra Branch-Mays DDS, MS

Grishondra Branch-Mays DDS, MS, is the vice dean for academic affairs for A.T. Still University-Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health. Dr. Branch Mays is a board-certified periodontist and academician for over 23 years, has served at three dental institutions, the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, Eastern Carolina University School of Dental Medicine, and University of Minnesota School of Dentistry where she served as the director of interprofessional education. Dr. Branch-Mays is responsible for overseeing the predoctoral education. Additionally, her responsibilities include providing a strong leadership component to promote collegiality and organizational structure in ATSU-MOSDOH’s Kirksville facility; serving as a mentor for faculty, students, and staff; enforcing policies and operational procedures; promoting general team building and institutional effectiveness; and supporting ATSU-MOSDOH’s strategic plan.

Joan Davis, PhD

Joan Davis, PhD, is director of research, special projects and initiatives at A.T. Still University-Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health. Prior to ATSU, Dr. Davis served at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) for more than 28 years. During her tenure at SIUC, Dr. Davis was awarded several grants to support her research relating to tobacco dependence. She has many publications relating to her research interest and has received national and international recognition for her contributions. Dr. Davis is tasked with developing an effective and robust research program that will promote research/scholarly activities throughout ATSU-MOSDOH and create new research opportunities for faculty and students. She will work independently and collaboratively to support the development, implementation, and assessment of special projects and initiatives as specified by the dean and his executive team.

Patricia E. Inks, RDH, MS

Patricia E. Inks, RDH, MS, is associate director of dentistry in the community and integrated community service partnerships for A.T. Still University-Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health’s (ATSU-MOSDOH) St. Louis Dental Education and Oral Health Center. She received her bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene from West Virginia University and master’s degree in professional leadership and training and development from Carlow University.

Prior to joining ATSU-MOSDOH, Inks served as director of dental hygiene at Fortis Institute – Erie for three years before her appointment to dental chair in 2012. She also served as an assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh for nine years and has more than 15 years’ experience as a dental hygienist.

Inks holds professional memberships with the American Dental Education Association and American Dental Hygienist’s Association, and she serves as a board member for the North West Pennsylvania Area Health Education Center. In addition, she has been a contributing author and presenter/instructor for continuing education activities, as well as an active community volunteer.

Tina Munroe

Tina Munroe is the director of clinical operations for A.T. Still University-Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health’s (ATSU-MOSDOH) St. Louis Dental Education and Oral Health Center.  She received her bachelor of social work degree from Missouri State University.

Prior to this role, Munroe served as the director of operations for the partner organization, Affinia Healthcare.  Tina has an additional 14 years of oral healthcare experience.  She was instrumental in the formation of the rural mobile dental program, Miles for Smiles and managed that program for 4 years.  She also served as the director of dental services at the Jordan Valley Community Health Center for 10 years in Springfield, Missouri.

Alan Freeman

Alan Freeman is president and chief executive officer at Affinia Healthcare, formerly known as Grace Hill Health Centers Inc., in St. Louis.  Alan’s professional experience spans 25 years, including senior executive roles in three Missouri hospitals. He was CEO at Cass Medical Center in Harrisonville from 1996 to 2002. He was also CEO at Missouri Highlands Health Care, a CHC that serves seven rural counties, from 2002-2006. For a few months in 2013, Alan served in the cabinet of Missouri Governor Jay Nixon, as Director of the Department of Social Services.

Alan serves on several boards and commissions, including the St. Louis Regional Health Commission, Missouri Primary Care Association, Behavioral Health Network of Greater St. Louis, Missouri Community Health Access, LLC, Missouri Community Health Foundation, St. Louis Integrated Health Network, and Home State Health Plan.
