ATSU may lease the Commons on a limited basis to non-ATSU organizations or companies.  Those who lease the Commons agree to comply with the guidelines and fee schedule.

The lease agreement must be made at least three weeks in advance by using the online request form, calling the Student Affairs Office at 660.626.2236, or sending an email to ATSU Student Affairs. For a refund, written notice of cancellation of the event must be made at least 48 hours in advance.

Those who use the Commons are expected to be respectful of the space and furnishings, pick up any decorations and/or other materials brought into the Commons for the event, and abide by these guidelines.

Request for approval to have the event catered must be given to ATSU at least three weeks in advance of the event and must be included in the lease agreement.

Lessee will provide to ATSU three weeks in advance a copy of the menu for the event and special requests for the type of decorations proposed. 

With rare exception, alcohol is generally not permitted in the Commons.  Lessee can complete a separate request form three weeks in advance of the event if they wish to request approval to serve alcohol.  ATSU’s policy for serving alcohol will be given to Lessee for review. The president will act upon requests to serve alcohol. 

Furniture and/or equipment may not be moved, removed, or added without the knowledge and prior approval of the Student Affairs Office. 

If Lessee receives approval to move furniture, they are responsible for contacting the ATSU Facilities Department and making arrangements for set up and tear down. Contact information is facilities@atsu.edu or call 660.626.2297.

Any special equipment needs must be made by Lessee with the appropriate office/vendor.

Lessee accepts liability for the event.

The maximum number of participants allowed in the Commons at any one time is 200, in compliance with fire code rated capacity for the space:

South half:  100 people
North half:  100 people
Kitchen Korner:  20 people

Leasing Fees

  • South half of the Commons:  $50/hr.
  • North half of the Commons:  $50/hr.
  • Entire Commons, minus kitchen area:  $100/hr.
  • Kitchen Korner:  $50/hr.
  • Secure kitchen space with refrigerator/freezer and sink with running water:  $50/hr.
  • Set-up/tear-down fee:  $50/hr.
