Award-Winning Sponsored Programs team

The award-winning ATSU Sponsored Programs team provides robust pre- and post-award services to all University faculty, trainees, and personnel—across all health professions schools, programs, and campuses. With offices based on both of ATSU’s Missouri and Arizona Campuses, the SP department is staffed by a cadre of highly skilled, experienced grant professionals, with nationally-recognized expertise in proposal development and grants management/compliance. Specifically, this unique service-oriented team supports faculty, trainees, and staff to elevate ATSU’s contributions and influence as a pre-eminent health sciences university, via award-winning grant proposals.

The SP team’s primary service audience is ATSU’s faculty and deans, with the secondary audience including students and affiliated residents/interns (with faculty mentors), full-time professional staff, and University administrators. This team customizes its services to meet the unique needs of each individual principal investigator/project director.

In terms of track record, the SP grants team has helped to leverage and manage grant awards from such prominent funding agencies as the National Institutes of Health, Health Resources and Services Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Missouri Foundation for Health, American Osteopathic Association, American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, Osteopathic Heritage Foundation, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services, just to name a few.

To date, this team has helped to leverage over 700 grant awards, worth upwards of $80 million in funding. With a funding rate far exceeding the national average, the SP team often helps ATSU’s principal investigators earn some of the highest scores in national grant competitions!
