Jay Crutchfield, MD, FACS, received his bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from the University of Arizona, a doctorate in Medicine from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine (New York, NY), and is a board-certified General Surgeon. He is a former member of the Arizona Medical Board (appointed by Governor Jane Hull), and the Arizona Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants (appointed by Governor Jan Brewer).
Dr. Crutchfield joined the faculty in 2010 and is now chair of SOMA’s Anatomy Department. His development of SOMA’s 3D Stereoscopic Virtual Anatomy Lab is nationally recognized, and he has made considerable EdTech-driven contributions to all four years of SOMA curriculum.
