Dr. Edward Moticka received his undergraduate training in Biology from Kalamazoo College in Michigan, and his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in Chicago. He received post-doctoral training at the University of California Los Angeles and the Czechoslovak Academy of Science in Prague. Prior to coming to Arizona, Dr. Moticka was Professor of Medical Microbiology and Immunology and Associate Dean for Research at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois.
Dr. Moticka has taught human anatomy, histology, immunology and infectious diseases to medical, dental and graduate students for 35 years while pursuing basic immunologic research supported by NIH, NSF and foundation grants. He has been a member of the American Association of Immunologists since 1976, and an Adjunct Professor in the Biodesign Institute and the School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University since 2005. In addition to teaching and research, Dr. Moticka is an expert in the area of research management including research compliance issues relating to human and animal subjects protection and technology transfer.
