Gregory McQueen, PhD

Professor Medical Humanities and Health Care Leadership
Prior to his present position Dr. McQueen served as the Senior Executive Associate Dean at Western University, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific. During the previous five years he had a highly successful tenure as the President of the University of North Texas Foundation and the Senior Vice-President of Advancement. During this time the North Texas University Foundation endowment went from being unranked to 28th out of 586 universities in the USA, in terms of the largest endowment yearly increase.
Dr. McQueen leads and facilitates the development of innovative approaches to planning, marketing and new business development. He holds a faculty associate appointment at the Niagara Institute, an international leadership development center that is part of the Conference Board of Canada. He is also a member of the faculty of the Directors College, DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University. Dr. McQueen is a certified executive feedback coach with the Center for Creative Leadership in North Carolina.
Dr. McQueen received his PhD from the University of North Texas, Denton, Texas, with a joint degree in Higher Education Administration and Business Management. Originally educated in Canada he also holds degrees in psychology, human geography, anthropology, health sciences, higher education administration/business and is a certified federal mediator. Dr. McQueen lectures in the fields of ethics, leadership and cognitive moral reasoning as it applies to leadership decision-making and business management. He provides consultation and services to profit and non-profit companies and organizations in the fields of executive leadership development, planning, reorganization, executive team building and corporate board development.
Dr. McQueen also provides meeting facilitation and speaker training for national and multi-national organizations and companies. His clients range from state and national medical organizations to the World Bank and its country clients as well as multi- national companies such as the Pfizer Corporation.
Dr. McQueen provides personalized tailored executive development and coaching for middle management and senior executives using numerous psychometric assessment tools and highly effective interactive facilitative methodologies focused on personal improvement and measurable outcomes. Several of his clients have been deans of innovative medical schools in both Canada and the USA. During his tenure as the Senior Vice-President for Academic Affairs at the University of North Texas Health Science Center Dr. McQueen was responsible for the only freestanding totally self-supporting business unit in the health science center. Under his leadership, with an exceptional staff, the Center for Professional and Continuing Education grew from a small local center into a multi-service national business providing services and products to numerous companies and physician groups across the United States and enrolling on a yearly basis 12,000 individual clients in over 42 states.
Of the several honours Dr. McQueen has received, he is most proud of the College Innovator of the Year Award from Humber College in Toronto, Canada, and the Governor General’s Award for Community Service presented by the Gannett Company.
