Lisa R. Chun, D.O., C-SPOMM
Dr. Chun is a 1991 graduate of the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine where she was both a teaching assistant and Fellow in Osteopathic Principles and Practices. She was a contributing author to the first edition of Osteopathic Diagnosis and Treatment by Eileen DiGiovanna, et al. After having completed a traditional osteopathic rotating internship at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, she served as Chief Resident in the inaugural Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx. She obtained her Board specialty in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine in 1994. Dr. Chun has over 17 years of Private practice experience which includes working with other practitioners in Maryland and solo practice on Kauai. Seeing the needs of a rural community, Dr. Chun worked with the HI State Health Department, county authorities, and local leadership and educational organizations to help further general health/well-being and health education in the Kauai community. Having acted as a preceptor and mentor to medical students, interns, and residents throughout her career; she joined ATSU-SOMA in 2011. She holds memberships in the American Osteopathic Association as well as the American Academy of Osteopathy. Currently she holds positions as an OMM course director and Director of the Pre-doctoral Osteopathic Teaching Fellowship.
