Hiking and Biking
There is a network of trails on the other side of the lake. The trailhead can be reached from KCOM by traveling south on Osteopathy to Michigan Street. Take a right on Michigan and then a left on Boundary.Travel on Boundary for approximately 1 ½ miles and Take the 1st right. This is a gravel road marked with a sign reading "Rainbow Basin" follow this road to the end. At the end, there is a sign denoting the beginning of the trails. The trails are fairly maintained and can be hiked in an afternoon. Be aware that following a rain, the trails get muddy.

At the lake, you will find a beach staffed with a lifeguard, boat and canoe rentals for fishing or water skiing, picinic shelters, and a great restaurant over looking the lake. There are also cabins and campsites available for rental.

Truman State University
Movies are shown at the Baldwin auditorium on campus. There are approximately 35 movies per year. Many movies that were missed at the local theaters show up at the college a few month's later. Call the student activities board for a schedule, 785-4722.

Athletic Events
Both Kirksville High School and Truman State compete in various sports throughout the year. Kirksville High events are on cable channel 3. Truman events are often posted in local businesses or information can be obtained by calling 785-4456.
