The Team Model:  A Site-based Interdisciplinary Workshop

This four-hour workshop, delivered at the preceptor’s office site, presents an overview of educational issues relevant to office-based preceptors. To highlight the “tag team teaching” concept, both the preceptors and their office staff participate in the workshop.  Content is organized into three units:

  • Getting Started:  Setting Goals and Expectations for Rotations
  • Working In the Middle
    • Adult Learning Theory
    • Questioning and Demonstrating
    • Teaching Strategies that Save You Work
  • Feedback and Evaluation

The Team Model is facilitated by Janet Head, R.N., M.S. from the ATSU-KCOM AHEC Program Office.  Category 1-A CME credit is available from the AOA.
