and Quality (AHRQ)

Site for accessing agency-supported, research derived guidelines for clinical practice and The National Guideline Clearinghouse.

National Library of Medicine (NLM)

Master site for Medline, PubMed, Loansome Doc, etc.

MEDLINE/PubMed

Provides an easy way to search the 12 million references and abstracts in the MEDLINE database and use PubMed's retrieval engine and Loansome Doc for document delivery services (there may be local charges).

MEDLINEplus

MEDLINEplus provides up-to-date, high quality health care information for patients and practitioners from the world's largest medical library, the National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health.

CDC-Centers for Disease Control

Includes fact sheets, health data, and information related to disease issues in the US and around the world. Primary sites of interest feature the MMWR and Prevention Guidelines.

Prevention Guidelines

This database includes guidelines for the prevention and control of public health threats (e.g., AIDS, cholera, disaster response); all of the ACIP immunization recommendations; CDC's STD treatment guidelines; and Health Information for International Travelers.

The MMWR Weekly contains data on specific diseases as reported by state and territorial health departments; reports on infectious and chronic diseases, environmental hazards, natural or human-generated disasters, occupational diseases and injuries, and intentional and unintentional injuries; and reports on topics of interest to the international and public health community.
