What makes your program unique?
We are a true rural track program, with opportunities in Wilderness and International medicine. As an unopposed Family Medicine Residency we have access to training by a wide array of excellent specialists and the patients that they care for. Outpatient continuity training takes place in the University of Wyoming Family Practice Clinic which is a full service outpatient clinic dedicated to addressing the needs of the underserved of Natrona County. Both the clinic and the residency program are sponsored by the state of Wyoming.
Testimonials:
The UW FMRP Casper Osteopathic program is a great place to learn the full spectrum of family medicine. We serve and learn in the largest hospital in the state and in a community health center. My fellow residents are a great asset, bright and motivated by the principles that attracted me to Osteopathic medicine.
Michael LK Brostoski, DO, MBA
This is a very DO friendly community, and we have ample opportunity to practice our skills in OMT on both our private patients and those referred to us from other physicians. We are currently working on establishing an elective rotation in hospital OMT as well, which I feel will benefit our training program. We have regular lectures on osteopathic technique, both from faculty and from guest lecturers. Overall, I feel the residency is doing a good job incorporating osteopathic medicine into their curriculum.
