Educational Program:
In addition to the residency curriculum, residents (PGY2-5) are adjunct faculty members at Des Moines University. They give formal lectures to the first year students in GI and Endocrine and teach Basic Surgical Skills Lab to the second year students. Many residents also participate as facilitators in EBL.
Educational Perks:
Research Fellowship Year: Residents are encouraged to apply for and participate in a Research Fellowship year in collaboration with Des Moines University after they have completed their third post-graduate year.
