Hospital Highlights
John C. Lincoln Hospital-North Mountain is a 262-bed facility with
a Level I Trauma Center primarily serving the northern Phoenix metro
area. JCL has combined labor, delivery, recovery and post-partum birthing
suites and a Level II nursery caring for special need newborns. Other
hospital departments include the Breast Cancer Center, physical, occupational
and speech therapies, a dedicated orthopedic unit, oncology, radiology,
pharmacy, critical care, respiratory care, laboratory, endoscopy, social
services and nutritional services. A tremendous undertaking of John C.
Lincoln Health Network's (JCLHN) community outreach program is the Dessert
Mission project which offers food, childcare, senior housing, dental
services, social services and medical care to the underprivileged and
poor.
Educational Program
John C. Lincoln offers four internship and eight family practice
residency positions for osteopathic graduates. These programs are managed
by dedicated faculty and staff who strive to provide comprehensive training
for disease prevention, health promotion, and the diagnosis and treatment
of patients of all ages.
Trainees rotate through JCLHN facilities and Phoenix Children's Hospital throughout the course of the program. On primary care services, interns will generally carry a load of 8-12 patients and are responsible for patient workup exams, progress notes, orders and general management. JCLHN maintains two libraries, including one at the North Mountain campus, which contains over 2000 texts and 500 medical videos. In addition to regular didactics, osteopathic workshops are held quarterly in collaboration with Maricopa Medical Center and OPTIK.
