Alumnus of the Year
WILBUR T. HILL, D.O., '51
2009 Alumnus of the Year
Wilbur Hill, D.O., ’51, has spent a lifetime – 49
years, in fact – practicing medicine and serving the
healthcare community. A founder of Liberty Hospital
in Liberty, Mo., Dr. Hill maintained a family practice
in Liberty since 1952. Although he retired in 2001,
he hasn’t slowed down. He continues to consult on
the evaluation of internship and residency programs
for the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and audits post-doctoral training
programs at osteopathic colleges across the country.
He also presents at medical seminars and conventions.
Dr. Hill has held numerous professional affiliations
including that of intern training program inspector
and osteopathic postdoctoral training institute surveyor for the AOA and its House of Delegates; past president, member,
and speaker of the house for the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians
and Surgeons; member of Congress of Delegates and Conclave of Fellows for the
American College of the Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP); and many more.
His recognition as KOAA’s Alumnus of the Year compliments his inventory
of awards and acknowledgments, which include the 2008 ACOFP Lifetime
Achievement Award, the 1999 ACOFP Osteopathic Family Physician of the
Year, the Civic Leadership Award from the City of Liberty & Missouri Municipal
League, the 2009 Cambridge Publishing’s Top 101 Industry Experts for excellence
in osteopathy, and several others.
Dr. Hill currently resides in Liberty, Mo.
