GOOD JOB!!! This organism is the cause of Bob's pneumonia. This organism is the most common cause of typical pneumonia in adults. An acute onset of symptoms is seen, a shaking chill, and PMN's are increased in amounts on CBC. A rusty sputum is sometimes seen. This organism is a gram positive diplococcus on gram stain.
