No this organism is not the cause of Bob's condition. This
organism is however, the most common cause of atypical pneumonia. Symptoms
include a persistant cough, little to no sputum production, infiltrates
on chest radiographs, and little toxicity (walking pneumonia). The organism
does not produce a cell wall and is not stainable by gram stain or by acid-fast
stain.
