Infection with this organism is usually associated with tick
bites in the summer months or after skinning a rabbit in the winter months.
Bob is not a hunter of rabbits and arrives in the office well before tick
season begins (February). The organism is a gram-negative rod shaped bacteria
that is acid-fast negative.
