This organism is an anaerobic organism. A common cause of aspiration pneumonia.
Patients with altered states of consciousness would be more likely to be
infected with these organisms. Usually, the onset of symptoms is more acute,
abscesses are formed in the lung rather than consolidations and the organism
gram stains as a gram negative rod.
