At 3:00AM your sleep is interrupted by the supervising intern. The intern informs you that, as a third year extern, it is time that you work up this patient all by yourself. You are informed that the intern will be sleeping in the lounge and doesn't want to be awakened unless it is really, really important.

The intern tells you that:

Paul Potter is being admitted to your service.

Rushing to the patient's room, you are greeted by:

a 40-year old pale, emaciated male
in mild respiratory distress.

Paul is fully alert and responsive.
