The LRC’s staff and the Information Technology and Services Department offer the Educational Technology Development Center (ETDC) providing faculty support for building online content from conception to production, including:
- identification of content and related learning objectives
- topical research needed to support content development
- script/content development
- creation of the digital content – the LRC will assist in the selection and in the use of appropriate hardware and software for the production of digital content.

The focus of the ETDC is to effectively integrate the technical aspects of this new technology with the intellectual and educational strengths of our faculty to achieve the most effective instructional content and online learning environment possible.
The ETDC initially is focused on supporting services using currently available resources including:
- Voice over screen content using Articulate, Camtasia with PowerPoint or web-based content.
- Develop, produce and integrate Flash video for Blackboard, MLO, or other web based course content.
- Assist faculty in more effective development of HTML based interactive content for use with Blackboard or MLO platforms using Articulate (click here for Articulate FAQs)
- Assist faculty in use of Echo 360 lecture capture software for later viewing of in class lectures.
- Assist faculty and staff in use of new applications such as:
PodCasts,
Blogs, and
Wikis.
The ETDC is available for faculty to create effective digital content. The center includes state of the art Windows and Macintosh computers. These are available both for us to teach you how to make effective digital content and to support you in the production of more sophisticated content.
The LRC Staff and the IT Department will continue to explore new technology and applications which can further strengthen our ability to provide quality educational online content.
