Can’t access an article in full-text?  Need material from a book that isn’t available online or in the LRC’s print collection?

As part of the LRC’s commitment to service, we provide faculty and students copies of articles or books that are unavailable through our online access.  If an article or book is not accessible directly, we will order it for you from another library. The request will be sent to a library that owns the article or book, and they will send it to us. Once the material arrives, we send it out to you via email, or, in the case of books, we hold it for you in the LRC for your pickup.

How do you do it?

For articles either fill out this ILL form or email your list of article citations to lrc@atsu.edu.   Your citations should include the author; article title; journal name with volume, issue and page numbers; and, if available, a UI or PMID number, which will help us identify your article.  Here’s a sample citation:

Shapcott EJ et al. The effects of explanatory style on concussion outcomes in sport.  Neurorehabilitation. 2007; 22(3): 161-7. PMID: 17917166.

For books, send the title, author, year of publication, and the publisher’s name.

How long does it take?

Generally, for article requests, you should receive the article within 1-3 days although in rare cases it may take up to 10 days. Book requests take up to 2 weeks.

As with any other LRC service if you have any questions please contact the LRC at lrc@atsu.edu or 480-219-6090.
