Audio-Digest Pod Casts

Audio-Digest provides presentations on selected clinical topics in each of 14 subject areas. For example, if you are taking Emergency Medicine, you can get a presentation on such topics as APPENDIX AND RENAL TROUBLE, TRAUMATIC HEAD, NECK, AND SPINE INJURIES, DISASTER MANAGEMENT, ENCEPHALITIS AND MENINGITIS, etc. (21 have been released in 2007 as of October 3. You can also look back to 2004.) CME Credit can be arranged (see Leisa Walters to get the correct forms).

Directions For Use - Unfortunately, manuevering around the Audio-Degest web site is confusing so please read these directions before trying to download pod casts.

After you go the Audio-Digest Homepage enter the login and password. You can sign in eiither from the boxes on the home page, or click “Sign In” at the upper‐right corner of any page. The main page will recognize you as “Welcome back: Institution”.

At this point, the icon on the upper ‐righthand of the page should change to an option to sign out. Of course, do not do so at this time.

From the “Online Services” tab (which is what you are probably looking at), click on “Online CME/CEE – MyCasts/MP3Casts”

About ½ way down the page is a blue bar and a drop down menu and boxes to enter the subject area, volume, and issue. Enter the desired volume and issue. You will be given a page where you can typically download the mp3, pretest, and presentation information. The post‐test for CME does not appear here.

First Caution: On this page, there is not a way to know what volume/issue represents the topic you are interested in. You have to get these in one of three ways:

Method 1: Just under that is a link to “MP3Casts Order Page.” Click on this link and choose a specialty. It will give you a list of presentations from the current year.

DO NOT add these to your shopping cart. Those costs are betweeen your credit card and Audio‐Digest. Instead note the suubject area, volume number, and issue number.

Go back to the “Online CCME/CE – MyCasts/MP3Casts” and enter the subject area, volume number, and issue number .

Method 2: Click on the “Past Issues” tab. This will give you a list of issues back to 2004 in each of the subject areas. As with Method 1, note the subject area, volume number, and issue number and enter these in the “Online CME/CE – MyCasts/MP3Casts” page.

Method 3: Click on Series Specials. Series Specials are MP3Casts which apply across the 14 disciplines. Examples include Ethics, End of Life, Domestic Violence, Risk Management, Substance Abuse, Geriatric Care, etc.

As with Methood 1, note the subject area, volume number, and issue number and enter these in the “Online CME/CE – MyCasts/MP3Casts” page.

Second Caution: As everyone is using a common password, the list of chosen MP3 Casts on the “Online C ME/CE – MyCasts/MP3Casts” page may change based on what another person using the same password does (and what you do may change what they see).
