Congratulations to the inaugural Human Movement graduating class!
We are happy to announce that the first graduates of the Human Movement program were honored at the commencement ceremony on August 2, 2008.  Forty students completed their degrees.  During the events, three students, Tracy Hultgren, Linda Miller, and Dani Lavigne were honored as the Outstanding Human Movement Students, along with the honoring of Meredith Hale-Griffin and Dr. Jeff Alexander as Outstanding Faculty (pictured below).

Dr. Rhea was awarded the 2008 Outstanding Young Investigator Award.

Dr. Rhea Receives NSCA Award
At the national conference for the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Dr. Rhea was awarded the 2008 Outstanding Young Investigator Award. Pictured below is Dr. Rhea receiving the award.

Dr. Rhea was awarded the 2008 Outstanding Young Investigator Award.

Dr. Rhea and his wife are pictured below along with Human Movement students Derek Bunker (left) and Danielle Lavigne (right) both of the class of 2008. Both students presented research at the conference. Derek presented on shoulder injury trends among professional baseball players and Dani presented on functional movement impairments among soccer players. Congratulations to the two of them for conducting and disseminating research in our field.

Inaugural Human Movement Institute
The first annual Human Movement Instittue was held on the Mesa Campus March 26-29, 2008. The event was a great success with numeous internationally recognized speakers. A mariachi band entertained the group for a casual dinner and Dr. Rhea showed some great photos of him working out (sorry, pics won't be available for public viewing). Below is the group photo!
