Graduation Ceremony Requirements
Per the ATSU Catalog, all ASHS/ASDOH graduates, residential and online, are required to attend one of the annual ATSU commencement ceremonies held in Mesa, Ariz. It is also understood that on occasion, significant personal and/or family matters may make attendance difficult.
If you cannot attend the commencement ceremony most closely following completion of your program, you must attend the next ceremony to fulfill your graduation requirements.
If you need to defer walking in your scheduled commencement ceremony you must submit a deferment request 
to your Department Chair. You will be notified via your ATSU email address if the deferment is approved or denied.
A reader card will be provided to each student at the graduation orientation held on campus. The reader card will be created using the prefered name provided on the petition to graduate form.
• All graduates MUST bring a Reader Card to graduation.
• You will hand this card to the Reader on stage during the hooding ceremony.
All students of the Arizona School of Health Sciences and the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health must complete a Petition to Graduate in order to begin the process of degree audits and ordering diplomas.
To ensure that your name is printed in the graduation program, you must submit the Petition to Graduate 30 days before the date of the graduation ceremony.

Degree In Absentia (Online Graduates Only)
Attendance at graduation is mandatory for all graduating students. Ceremonies are held every year for the Arizona campus in early Spring (March) and Summer (August). It is understood that on occasion significant personal and/or family matters may make attendance impossible. Those graduates unable to attend graduation must submit this form. The form will be forwarded to your Department Chair and then forwarded to the Dean for consideration of a degree in absentia. Requests MUST be submitted no later then 30 days before the respective graduation date. Check the current academic calendar for exact ceremony dates. You will be notified via your ATSU e-mail address if the request is approved or denied.

Students are responsible for purchasing their own tam/tassel and gown.
ATSU will purchase master or doctoral hoods for each graduate. Hoods will be given to you on the day of the commencement ceremony.
Be sure to order the correct gown. When you receive your order, please check to be sure you received the correct order.
*Master Gowns are black.
*DPT/TDPT Doctoral Gowns are black with Teal chevrons.
*AUD/TAUD Doctoral Gowns are black with Dark Green chevrons.
*DHSc Doctoral Gowns are black with Sage chevrons.

Graduation Announcements
To order graduation announcements, please complete the following steps.
1. Go to www.cbgrad.com
2. Select your state: Arizona
3. Select your school: A.T. Still University - School of Health Sciences
4. Ceremony Month: August
5. Press Continue
Diplomas will be ordered after all grades are received at the end of an academic quarter/semester. It takes approximately 10-12 weeks after you graduate to receive your diploma.
In order to ensure that your diploma is sent to the correct address, we ask that you provide the correct address when you submit the Petition to Graduate form.
Contact the Registrar if you have any questions concerning your diploma.
Individuals meeting the following criteria may apply to be a guest hooder during graduation: Graduate’s parent or grandparent with a terminal degree (i.e. Ph.D., Ed.D. Au.D. D.P.T., etc. or degree being conferred).
Requests for guest hooders must be submitted 30 days before the date of graduation. Late requests will not be accepted.

Official transcripts can be ordered from the registrar. The form is online at: http://www.atsu.edu/registrar/forms.htm Please note that if you need proof of your degree for licensure or employment you can request a letter of verification along with an official transcript from the registrar’s office.
